It all started with a Thai/Danish young couple, Lisbeth and Suthi Tang who, after having lived a couple of years in Bangkok, decided to move to Denmark and establish their first retail store Yin Yang in the heart of Copenhagen in 1973.

The concept was innovative: handicraft from all over the far east and rattan furniture of their own design. It was an instant success among their customers and the firm expanded quickly with more shops, as well as a wholesale department exporting to several countries in Europe.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence

In 2000 they decided to take on new challenges and moved to Saint-Paul-de Vence, near Nice in the south of France where they bought an old shepherds cottage which needed a complete renovation.

They soon discovered that there was a demand for property renovating and decorating among foreigners having a "maison secondaire” in the area.

Second generation

Copenhagen and Saint-Paul-de-Vence

The core business developed throughout the years with a variety of exciting projects in France, but also abroad. Whilst still being part of the company as consultants, they decided to let Nicolas take the reigns and continue the company in their footsteps with a more international focus.
